Renting The Room after hours on Lansing’s west side

Two different things get called “booking The Room”, so it is worth separating them.

During opening hours, just turn up

The Room is the large space behind the espresso bar, and while we are open it belongs to whoever walks in. No booking, no table minimum, and nobody clearing your cup while you are still talking. Weekday mornings you will usually find business meetings at one table, a homeschool co-op at another, and somebody three hours into a craft project in the corner.

That is the point of the place. Sit down and stay a while.

If you are bringing a group of more than a few people, a phone call ahead of time helps us make sure there is room, but it is a courtesy rather than a reservation.

After we close, you can have it to yourselves

For anything that needs the space private, we hire The Room out after hours: after 4pm Monday to Friday, or after 2pm on a Saturday, once the cafe has shut for the day. We are closed Sundays.

What it is like

Rustic and industrial, with reclaimed wood tables, deep armchairs, and colorful statement pieces. Free Wi-Fi that holds up on video calls, outlets, and a free lot at the door, which matters more in a Michigan February than it does in July.
